Welcome to the first issue of the Online Grande Gazette. The last issue of the paper Grande Gazette was published in 2017. It was a wonderful paper that everyone looked forward to receiving. The Online Grande Gazette is offered in the same tradition. Anyone can submit their stories and share them with the community.

How to Begin

I was looking at previous issues of the Grande Gazette and was more impressed now - then [or is it than] when I first saw and used them in years past. I don't know if this approach can ever reach the same level of achievement as the Grande Gazette, but I am willing to give it a try with this online approach. One of the advantages of this approach is that it costs nothing to distribute the Online Grande Gazette. However, it will take people to prepare their stories and share them with the community. The original Grande Gazette had the challenge of communicating Board / HOA business and activities. We have this website to perform that function. So, the Online Grande Gazette can focus more on the stories from the community. Let the website handle the other communications.

I don't know what the release interval will be going forward. My guess is that there will be a release every 3 months. It all depends on how many articles people decide to submit. Will there be writers that will consistently submit stories? I hope so, but hope is not a plan - what is written here is the plan.

Initially, I thought of writing something on my own as an example, but that was not the correct approach. I did not want to risk shutting down some people in some way. I then thought of pulling a few stories from the old Grande Gazette, but then that did not seem like the right thing to do. So here it is. No pictures, not much content, the first story of the first issue of the Online Grande Gazette - How to Begin.

• Preferred format is plain text in the email with the images
• Other formats are:
  • HTML as a zip file
  • MS Word
  • A PDF can be submitted but it should be a searchable PDF file

Online Grande Gazette Information Publishing Practices and Policies

• The Online Grande Gazette may reject any material deemed inappropriate.
• Rejected articles can be submitted for review to a panel composed of Grande Gazette Staff and the Board Liaison Trustee.
• The Online Grande Gazette will edit submissions for clarity and focus, and will make every effort to maintain the original intent of the writer.
• The Online Grande Gazette prefers original material written by residents. If parts are abstracted from other sources, references should be included.
• The opinions expressed are not necessarily those of Grande Gazette Staff or the Board of Trustees
